GOCHESS
The app for the world’s smartest chessboard, AI coaching, LED move hints, and online play on a real board.
GoChess puts a sensor under every square and lights beneath the surface. Lift a piece and the board shows you where it can legally go; drift into a mistake and it says so before you commit. Reviewers keep landing on the same point, the blunder alerts and move hints turn a board into a teacher.
I designed the app around the board, not the screen. Solo against AI across 32 levels, face to face with personalised tips for each player, or online, since a paired Lichess or Chess.com account puts millions of opponents on a real board. The in-game view keeps clocks, captured material and the move list legible from arm’s length while your eyes stay on the wood.
Hot orange on near-black, tuned to the board’s own LEDs so the screen holds up in a dim room. A motion pass carries each move from the physical square to the interface without a beat of lag.

Outcome
Ships with every GoChess board, from Mini to Classic, and is the product’s whole interface.
